Five Badass Q&As
Q1: What sets Vurbl apart from platforms like SoundCloud and Spotify?
A1: Vurbl allows creators to publish and monetize their audio content for free, with curated playlists and categories organized by humans. Unlike directory services, Vurbl will enable creators to mix different types of audio and earn ad revenue directly.
Q2: How did you come up with the idea for Vurbl?
A2: I noticed that the audio industry needed to catch up in video regarding technology and monetization. Drawing from my experience in video streaming, I realized that the same frameworks could be applied to audio, leading to the creation of Vurbl.
Q3: What advice do you have for entrepreneurs struggling to turn their ideas into reality?
A3: Focus on near-term goals and work obsessively to achieve them. Compartmentalize your tasks, stay flexible, and be ready to pivot if necessary. Also, build a strong network and communicate your vision effectively to gain support.
Q4: How do you handle the stress and challenges of running a startup?
A4: I classify my tasks, meditate, and ensure I get enough sleep. Staying focused on short-term goals helps me manage stress, and I always remind myself that a great day is just around the corner after a hard one.
Q5: What has been your biggest challenge in creating Vurbl?
A5: The biggest challenge was securing funding. I pitched to about 200 investors and faced numerous rejections. However, my unwavering belief in the idea and ability to communicate its potential eventually helped me secure the necessary support.
